Sharabate Anar - Persian Pomegranate Bliss

Combining the tartness of fresh pomegranate juice with the floral notes of saffron and rose water, this sharbat is balanced by lime's brightness and honey's subtle sweetness. Each sip offers a journey through the exotic tastes of Persia, making it an ideal treat for hot summer days or a special gathering with loved ones.

Pomegranate drink

Time

Prep: 15 min

Ingredients (for 4 glasses)

1 cup fresh pomegranate juice

1/4 cup fresh lime juice

1/4 cup rose water

1/2 teaspoon saffron threads

2 tablespoons honey or sugar (adjust to taste)

2 cups cold sparkling water

Pomegranate seeds, for garnish

Fresh mint leaves, for garnish

Ice cubes

Method

  • Crush the saffron threads in a small bowl.

  • Add 2 tablespoons of hot water to the saffron and let it steep for about 10 minutes.

  • In a small bowl, mix the honey or sugar with the pomegranate juice until fully dissolved.

  • In a large pitcher, combine the pomegranate juice mixture, lime juice, rose water, and the saffron infusion.

  • Stir well to blend all the flavours.

  • Add the cold sparkling water to the pitcher and mix gently.

  • Adjust the sweetness and acidity to taste by adding more honey or lime juice if necessary.

  • Fill glasses with ice cubes.

  • Pour the pomegranate saffron sharbat over the ice.

  • Garnish with fresh mint leaves and pomegranate seeds. This sharbat is as visually stunning as it is delicious.

  • Serve immediately and enjoy this refreshing and aromatic Persian-inspired drink! Enjoy!
